United States multi-national corporations employ significant numbers of employees in Canada and Mexico, two countries with whom the United States both shares a border and has significant trade relations. Despite their geographic proximity to the United States, Canada and Mexico have employment and labor laws that differ materially to those of the United States, with many more laws that protect the employment, compensation, separation and data privacy rights of employees. Employers and their counsel must have an understanding of these differences to not run afoul of the law when hiring individuals to work in those countries.

Please join William D. Wright, in a pre-recorded webinar session, as he focuses on many of the employment and labor laws of Canada and Mexico that U.S. and other multi-national employers interested in hiring employees in Canada and/or Mexico, or placing employees in either country, should understand in order to best comply with the laws and leverage their business opportunities.

This presentation will cover the following topics:

  • Significant Legislation
  • Recruiting and Hiring
  • Employment Agreements
  • Terms of Employment
  • Statutory Rights
  • Employee Benefits
  • Employee Separations
  • Multi-National Employer Issues
  • Practical Advice to Avoid Pitfalls
